Our Community Projects

We are very proud of the wide range of activities, groups and events we offer across our localities and networks, helping to strengthen wellbeing and build connections among the people we support and the wider community.

Camera Club

Community Lives organises an accessible and inclusive Camera Club for adults with a learning disability. Sessions are held once a month, alternating between field trips for inspiration and workshops where technical skills are developed and practised.

Camera Club is facilitated by a professional photographer and supported by our Participation and Engagement Officer. We work in partnership with Y Storfa and Swansea Council's Cultural Services to support the development of this creative group.

Better Together Choir

Community Lives and Drive Cymru formed a partnership in 2024 to develop and organise an inclusive and accessible choir in Neath Port Talbot for adults with a learning disability.

The choir practises every Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm and performs at various events throughout the year.

This lively and uplifting group encourages teamwork, learning and personal development.

Clwb Croeso

Community Lives organises a weekly creative and social group in Neath Port Talbot every Monday from 11am to 1pm, offering opportunities to enjoy arts and crafts, music and social activities to the people we support and the local community.

Organised by one of our Registered Care Homes, this group provides an opportunity for people to come together in their local community and take part in a range of inclusive and accessible activities.

Tenant Participation

The people we support have a range of opportunities to participate in meetings, forums and presentations, both within Community Lives and with our external partners. This ensures their voices and lived experiences are heard and used to inform and drive improvements across the sector.

Community Lives Board Members

We ensure our Board of Management includes people we support and offer Trustee positions to promote diverse perspectives and lived experience at all levels of governance.

Tenant Lives Group

Members of our Senior Management Team meet quarterly with our Tenant Lives Group representatives to discuss important updates, gather feedback and plan together. This helps us remain user-led and values-focused.

Better Together Leadership Group

The leadership group brings together organisations from the third sector, housing, voluntary services, supported living providers and people with lived experience to plan and organise activities in the NPT area. Collaboration and co-production are at the heart of these meetings, helping to shape inclusive and meaningful opportunities within the community.

West Glamorgan Regional Partnership Task & Finish Group

Our supported individuals are involved in task and finish groups organised by the West Glamorgan Regional Partnership Board. Through these groups, the people we support can share their views and help shape recommendations on topics such as transport, easy-read information, community inclusion, and getting the right care and support.

Swansea Council Steering Group

We work closely with Swansea Council's Steering Group for Supported Living, which enables the people we support to take part in meetings and presentations to share how they have come together as a locality and network to influence services and support within their local community.
